Rubaare United Women Organization (RUWO) is a local community based non-profit, non-governmental organization located in Rukararwe parish, Katenga Sub County, Mitooma District, south western Uganda. This organization was formed to fight for women’s economic emancipation and respect for human dignity, thereby improving their living standards by providing appropriate technologies, training and support services enable them become self-reliant.

2013:

RUWO completed a pig farming program to help ten women begin pig rearing businesses. The women were trained in animal husbandry and agricultural extension to ensure their success. They were then given pigs and feed. The women in the program will also contribute piglets so that more women may begin businesses. The project is expected to be fully sustainable for the next three to five years.
