School Supplies for Foster Care College Students
Project Objective:
To help foster care youth who are enrolling in college have the supplies they need to be successful.
2015:
The SHARE Institute collaborated with the Rotary Breakfast Club in purchasing school items for foster children who enroll in colleges. The interns purchased school folders, pens, pencils and binders. The Rotary Breakfast Club donated the backpacks.
2020:
Faculty members of the Behavioral and Social Sciences division at American River College purchased high-quality backpacks and filled them with school supplies. These backpacks were given to The SHARE Institute to distribute to college-bound foster youth through the Foster Youth Education Fund, as well as other grade-school children.
